Free up iPhone storage, one day of photos at a time
Photos and videos are usually what fills an iPhone. The hard part isn't deleting them, it's deciding — thousands of times. deja makes that decision small: one past day at a time.
Why cleaning a camera roll stalls
Scrolling a grid of 20,000 thumbnails is decision fatigue: every photo asks 'keep or delete?', and none of them has any context. Most people give up after a few minutes, or delete nothing because they're afraid of losing something.
deja changes the order of things. You relive a day first — the trip, the dinner, the walk — and in that context the blurry shot, the duplicate and the pocket photo are obvious.
How much space you get back
At the end of each relive, deja adds up the size of everything you marked and shows it on the delete button, so you know what you're about to free before you press it.
Your total freed space is kept on the home screen of the app, next to how many memories you've relived. Videos are usually the biggest files, so a day with a few long clips can free more than a whole album of photos.
Safe to delete
Nothing is deleted until you confirm in iOS's own dialog. Deleted photos then wait in the Recently Deleted album for 30 days before iOS removes them for good.
If you use iCloud Photos, deleting a photo on your iPhone deletes it from iCloud and your other devices too, which is also what frees iCloud storage.

Questions
Is deleting photos in deja free?
Yes, always, with no limit. Only reliving uses credit.
Does deja find duplicates automatically?
No. deja shows you your photos in the order you took them, so duplicates and near-duplicates sit next to each other and are easy to spot; you decide what goes. iOS's own Photos app also has a Duplicates album under Utilities.
Will deleting free iCloud storage?
If you use iCloud Photos, yes: a photo deleted on your iPhone is deleted from iCloud and your other devices too. Apple doesn't count Recently Deleted against your iCloud storage.
